SARVAC and CSA develop GSAR Curriculum for Canada

SARVAC and the Canadian Standards Association are in the late stages of GSAR Curriculum for Canada. Currently the Curriculum (Z1625) is hosted on the CSA website and is available for Public Review. We invite all those interested to view and provide constructive critique.

Winter Boat Rescue

On Saturday, January 30, 2016, Vernon Search and Rescue was called to respond to an RCMP request regarding a boater in distress, at night on Okanagan Lake. Bystanders could hear the subject calling out for help, yet were unable to reach him.

Strengthening the Ground SAR Role in Canada

British Columbia commits $10 million for B.C. ground search and rescue

NEWS RELEASE NORTH VANCOUVER – 􀀃Ground search and rescue volunteers are known for providing an outstretched hand-of-help to the lost or injured in British Columbia.  The provincial government is reaching out to them and will be providing $10-million in one-time funding to help bolster training, administrative support and equipment renewals.
