SARVAC’s Humanitarian Workforce Program (HWF) continues to maintain a steady presence on the ground in Winnipeg, supporting wildfire evacuees across Manitoba.
Following the successful launch of operations earlier this month, Rotation #2 has now completed its deployment. Responders were actively engaged in:
- 🛌 Shelter support
- 🧹 Decommissioning efforts
- 🔄 Adapting to shifting needs as some communities began repatriating

Rotation 2 officially demobilized at 2200 hrs, July 31. A heartfelt thank-you to all responders—your contributions were outstanding and essential to the mission’s ongoing success.



🛬 Welcome, Rotation 3
Our newest team of HWF Responders arrived safely and will be operational as of 0800 hrs, August 1. Pre-deployment briefings are complete, and teams are fully prepped to continue delivering vital support.

As of the end of Week 2:
- 🧍♂️ Roughly 400 new evacuees arrived in Winnipeg earlier this week
- 🏘️ Several shelters have been decommissioned or transitioned
- 🧼 Shelters across the city continue to receive tailored support
- 🧭 Operations remain fluid, with all personnel in good spirits and upholding high standards of care
