It is with great sadness that the Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada (SARVAC) shares the passing of Kevin “Dwight” Holloway, a dedicated leader and passionate advocate for search and rescue in Canada.
Dwight served as SARVAC’s Executive Director from April 2015 to July 2016, helping guide the organization through an important period of growth and contributing significantly to its continued development. His leadership, knowledge, and commitment left a lasting impact on SARVAC and the broader search and rescue community.
Beyond his contributions to SARVAC, Dwight devoted many years of service to 103 Search and Rescue Squadron in Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, where he served with distinction before retiring from his role several years ago. Throughout his career, he was a tireless ambassador for search and rescue, always willing to share his experience, support others, and help strengthen the community he cared so deeply about.
On behalf of SARVAC and the Canadian Ground Search and Rescue community, we extend our deepest condolences to Dwight’s family, friends, former colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
Thank you, Dwight, for your dedication, leadership, and lasting contributions to search and rescue in Canada. Your legacy will continue to be remembered by the many people whose lives you touched.
