Strengthening National Search and Rescue Leadership – Coast to Coast to Coast

This past weekend in Toronto, SARVAC’s Humanitarian Workforce Program (HWF) proudly hosted its “Train the Trainer” event!

The workshop’s mission? To empower champions within each Provincial/Territorial (P/T) Association to amplify SARVAC’s HWF program.

These champions are vital in preparing Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) responders across Canada for future emergencies as disasters grow in frequency and impact.

Key Highlights:

  • Champions were equipped with the tools and knowledge to lead and support SARVAC’s initiatives in their regions.
  • These leaders embody a vast network of dedicated GSAR volunteers and groups across Canada, serving as the backbone of the country’s GSAR emergency response.
  • Their dedication ensures a stronger, coordinated GSAR system, ready to serve Canadians in times of need.

Let’s celebrate their hard work and commitment to building a safer, more prepared Canada! Interested in joining? Upcoming workshops are planned—reach out to your P/T Association to learn more.
